Taking Our Passion to Johannesburg: Silver Toy Shop at Comic Con Africa 2026
The road to the ultimate geeks convention
We have always been convinced that collecting is more than just filling an empty shelf with plastic. It’s about the deep joy of discovering something rare and finding others who share the obsession. The energy in our store this time of year is just buzzing. We are stuffing endless cardboard boxes, double-checking our inventory lists, and getting ready for the biggest pop culture event on the continent. That’s right, we are officially heading to Comic Con Africa in Johannesburg from the 24th to the 27th of September 2026. We’re so excited to be part of the team bringing our curated catalogue of premium collectibles directly into the heart of the action.
Important Dates for Store Closings
The logistical planning for an exhibition of this magnitude is monumental. Our regular operations will be temporarily paused as we transport our best stock. Please be advised that the Silver Toy Shop will be closed from September 16th to October 4th inclusive. We know that a temporary closure can be a little annoying when you are searching for a particular piece on the internet, but we promise the wait will be completely worth it. We really do need this dedicated time to travel safely, set up an unforgettable exhibition space and make sure our remaining stock returns in perfect order before we resume normal trading hours.
Come visit us at Stall D505
We’d love to see you in person if you’re coming to the festival this year. Our dedicated team will be on hand all weekend at stall D505. We’ve compiled an amazing selection just for the convention attendees. We’ll be fully stocked and primed at our booth if you’re desperate to find rare vaulted Funko Pops or looking to grow your competitive trading card game decks with the latest TCG products like Pokémon and Star Wars Unlimited.
Fan Favourites & Exclusive Collectibles
A giant convention is the perfect place to hunt down those elusive grails. We will be at booth D505 with premium thrilljoy figures and quirky Pop Mart designer toys for fans seeking something truly unique for their displays. Sports card collectors also have a solid selection of Topps chrome boxes to look forward to. We thoroughly understand the anxiety of lugging pristine cardboard boxes through crowded convention halls. That’s why we’ll also have rigid protective slabs and premium accessories available to keep your new investments perfectly safe while you venture around the rest of the busy show floor.
Building a Collector Community
Honestly, our absolute favourite part of this business is meeting our loyal customers face-to-face. There is a magic like no other when you see someone finally catch up with the exact figure he has been chasing for months. Conventions like these remind us why we started trading in the first place. It’s a wonderful opportunity to share collecting stories, discuss global hobby trends and celebrate the iconic characters we all love.
See you in Joburg.
We can’t wait to share this monumental weekend with thousands of passionate fans. Be sure to plan your route and get to stall D505 early for the best stuff, because it will sell out, inevitably. We look forward to seeing all your amazing cosplay costumes and helping you find the perfect new centrepiece for your home collection.
